Could you help us find the vaccine against Paratyphoid A Fever? Participants will be vaccinated with the new vaccine or control and then exposed to the bacteria that causes paratyphoid fever. All study participants will receive antibiotic treatment.

We are running walk in clinics for the Bexsero (Gonorrhoea) vaccine. On the below dates there will be appointments for the Gonorrhoea vaccine at North Manchester and Hathersage – please register an account with us if you have not previously – link
Hathersage – Monday 20th October – Patients must book in between 4pm and 6pm at the signposted desk.
North Manchester – 21st October – Patients must book in between 4pm and 5pm at the signposted desk.
This is for gay and bisexual men and transgender women who have had 5 or more sexual partners in 3 months, or a sexual infection in the last year. The vaccine reduces the rates of Gonorrhoea by up to 40%.
You can’t get any tests or other treatments at this appointment. You can only get the Bexsero vaccine.
If you’ve never done it before please register for PHR (personal health record) on our website before you attend.
These sessions will be very busy and you may have to wait to be seen. We appreciate your patience.
Don’t worry if you can’t come to these sessions. You can get the vaccine in clinic when you see a doctor or nurse.

The license for the contraceptive implant (Nexplanon) has been extended to 5 years – this extension to the license applies to any Nexplanon implant that has already been fitted. More information can be found here
